Nasse-Woehl paper in the spotlight

Print
spotlightThe Optical Society of America (OSA) selects a recent publication from the Woehl Lab as one of three "Spotlight on Optics" articles of the month.

The summary published on the Spotlight on Optics web page also provides a link to PSF Lab, a software package developed in our group for calculating the (fully vectorial) illumination point spread function. The editors point out that the software "allows the interested readers to study in any detail the field in the focal region, with the help of efficient color pictures, and should be of considerable help for scientists working with confocal microscopy".

According to OSA, journal editors identify and select articles that showcase "the breadth and quality of OSA content" and "have excellent scientific quality, are representative of the level of work taking place in a specific area, and put other work in perspective".

Spotlight on Optics was launched in the summer of 2009 with the objective of highlighting and summarizing select research articles from OSA's flagship journals.

In addition, the article was singled out as one of four OSA Research Highlights in the January/February 2010 issue of The Photonics R&D Insider.
